What should I expect from my first session?

It’s important to remember that every practitioner is different. However, during your first session, most practitioners begin with an introduction to themselves and ask you a series of initial questions to gain an understanding of what has brought you to see them, and what you hope to gain from your sessions. This initial assessment will enable them to best identify how you both can work together to achieve your desired outcome.

In your first session, your practitioner might explain what their particular style or process might look like, and tell you what to expect from your sessions. They’ll also review Unmind's policies around confidentiality and session cancellations and discuss any expectations they may have of you.

It’s likely that your practitioner will share a consent form to sign, either before or after your first session has taken place. However, the practitioner may go over the form with you and request verbal consent instead.

A typical session on Unmind is approximately 50 to 60 minutes long. All sessions are conducted online, using secure video call.
