How to create a Stripe account

How to create a Stripe account and connect it to Unmind

Unmind uses a secure payment platform called Stripe to process payments. Once you have signed in, you will need to create and connect an account on Stripe to receive payments from clients on Unmind.

Before you get started, you will need your mobile phone and some bank details depending on where you are based:

Europe - IBAN (international bank account number)

UK - Account number and sort code

Australia - Account number and BSB

From your account, go to Settings on the left menu bar, then Integrations, and under Stripe click Connect Account.

This will open the payment platform Stripe. Enter your phone number and email address as requested and click Next.

Stripe will then send you a text message with a verification code, so you can verify your phone number. Enter the verification code and proceed to the next page.

On the next page, you will be asked to enter some details about your business. If you're an independent therapist, select Individual / Sole Trader and then click Next.

Fill in the form with your personal details as requested and click Next.

Then you'll be asked to enter some details about the industry you are working in. If there is no option for therapy, we would recommend that you select Consulting Services.

If you have a website, you can pop that in the next field and click Next. If you don't have a website, click add product description instead and you can add in a quick description, such as 'mental health services'.

Next, fill in your bank account details. Select your currency, the country of your bank account and if you're based in the UK enter your sort code and account number, and then confirm your account number. If you're based in Europe, you might be asked to enter your IBAN (international bank account number). When you're ready, click Save.

On the next page, you'll be asked to review your information and then you can scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save.

At this point you will be redirected to Unmind. Then all you need to do is click Visit Dashboard and the last step is to send yourself a verification email, in order to verify your Stripe email address. Open this email and click confirm email. You're now all set up to receive payments!
